Another EAS Post Sorry

Hi guys I have been searching the site to solve my problem, but after quite a while I cant find the specific fault I am having
Everything appeared to be working fine with the EAS system but then every so often I would start the car and it would take an age to get up to the correct ride height. Sometimes all is ok and it is ready to drive straight away. Other times it can take minutes. I had a look under my bonnet today and the EAS compressor kept kicking in every 5 seconds. It will runs for 20 seconds, stops for 5 and run again. I have no warnings on the dash.
I am assuming I have a leak somewhere but am just asking for some pointers where to look first.

If it taking a while to raise and the compressor is running often, more than likely the diaphragm is at fault, no air in the storage side of the system = no worky.
Time to go through your Valveblock with a X8R kit I reckon, a compressor rebuild wouldn't go a miss either.

It takes 100spi to raise one of these beasts ;)
 
Does it dance at the front or rear by any chance?
Mine would run the pump then lift a little, cut the pump off and lower again. The it would continue doing this all the time it was running. o_O

Very likely a leak. How old are the airsprings and when was the last time the valve block was rebuilt? How far does the car drop if parked overnight with the engine off?

I’ve only had the car a couple of months, but the bags look relatively new. Sometimes she drops quite a bit overnight. Sometimes it stays at the height I set it the night before. Very strange.
This morning it took an age to raise up.
 
Yes- if it drops with the delay relay thingy removed (or better yet with the battery disconnected), then you'll know it's a leak and not an electrical gremlin at play, and to use wammers' EAS troubleshooting guide to find it and nail it down.

That's normal. I have been told the EAS had a few upgrades over the years to limit the amount it can drop in a night but never found the details myself.

Assuming it doesn't drop with the delay timer removed, calibrating the EAS so the values across each axle are the same can help. Sometimes the connector behind passenger a-post can act up and the one to the driver pack. Failing that, the height sensor tends to wear around its most usual height. If one starts to give odd readings at night it can lower a bit each time. Leaving it at wade height might help there or new sensor.
