Annoying clutch pedal problem

Hi folks, my Freelander has a developed a clicking sound occasionally when the clutch is depressed, it doesn't do it all the time but you get this 'click' sound on pressing the pedal in, it sounds as if it's coming from the pedal mechanism itself but I can't identify the fault, the clutch seems to be working ok but I wondered if any of you have had the same issue?

I think I've solved it, the joint where the clutch pedal meets the push rod doesn't fix in place properly, and there is too much lateral movement along the piece where they meet so I've used two small cable ties to hold it back but with enough movement so that the clip can still pivot as the pedal is depressed.

I replaced my clutch master cylinder last year , and is much better but the clicking is back , will have a look and check what you have done ,when I first got my freelander I could feel engine vibration through the pedal , and last year it started to squeak in use , so changed the master cylinder , now very little vibe , and no squeak

When I'd sorted the pedal linkage I was testing the pedal and on fully depressing the pedal there was a faint click sound each time at full depression but it's unrelated to the linkage problem I found initially, maybe this is the clicking you can hear?

I saw a post on here about clutch pedal noise , where the pedal holder/bracket is spot welded can make a cracking sound !

Maybe a sign of the clutch getting tbin/pressure plate worn as the pedal travels further, or something else that causes it to travel further?

Overall the clutch feels fine, there's very little free travel in the pedal and the biting point is early so I'd guess that it's got plenty of wear left.
