amplifiers in Discovery

Do Discos already have these built in? There's something under the passenger seat that looks like one, but I'm not sure.

there is one behind the speakers in the rear door....the two speakers coverd by the black metal screen

thanks obieclark. BTW, what size are the speakers in the back door? I've looked at several car audio sites, and none of the sizes are the same.

6 1/2s.......I had a really hard time running a system in my Disco 1 its a 95 and I replaced the head unit with a $500 hidden fold away Kennwood and I replaced the front two speakers with Pionner 6 1/2's I had to cut into the door and I replaced the back two that are above the jump seats with 6by9's also pionners and I again had to cut out the cardboard they hooked right in to the stock wireing I then replaced the gate speakers with 6 1/2 pionners and I then hooked up a infinity 12" with a 500watt amp it sounds great it is soo clear I havn't herd a clearer crisper system I just added last night some JVC home speakers I hooked them to the amp and it adds a little more "bump" thouse have four tweeters on them. I have a total of 13 speakers in my Disco 1 and it sounds really good it was pricey to put that head unit in b/c the disco's have a stock amp system soo I had to add a CIT box that is what they call it I think and it put less amps to my speakers. with out it it made a humming sound like it had to much juice. If you have any ?'s about putting a sytem in your disco1 95 let me know I was throught it ALL!!!

The 500 watt amp that is hooked up to my 12" sub id just mounted to the top of my box the the 12 is in...

Gotcha. I'm actually thinking about removing the fold-up rear seats all the way in back and putting 10 inch subs in their place and making a custom amp enclosure between them.

That would be cool I like my jump seat soo I left mine in there..I just have a 12'' in a small box with my amp mounted at the top and it is sitting right behine the rear seat it sounds soooo good infact I have infinity sub woofers they are having a sale right now on cardomain....the site is www.cardomain.com and its like an ad off to the right side I think you can get two 12's for like $90 which is awesome I paid 125 for one of mine you could put 12's in the spot that would sound goooooood...
