My ice wasn't as extreme as the previous post, but i had three amps which were pheonix gold and 2x12" subs JL Audio... I had 4 gauge cable 60amp main fuse and no problems powering it from the one diesel battery...

I take it you're running at least 8 gauge cable? I'd earth immediately to the chassis nearest as possible to the amp - personally, and ensure the cable is at least as big as your power cable.

You're ICE? Was that in your lowered (I believe the kids now call it 'stanced') Citroën Saxo? The one with Monster stickers, cheaply tinted windows and hideous alloys that actually cost more than the car itself...

Nope - diesel fiat uno, and yes, it was worth considerably more than the car was worth!

That was back in the late 90's though, and I haven't changed as much as head unit since - just in case you were going to put me in 'that group' ;-)

the thicker the power and earth wire the better. i was running 2 0AWG runs from alt's to rear batterys.
0gauge from bolts on both alts to front battery and to body, 0 gauge from body to battery too.
0 gauge from each battery in boot to a welded earth point in the boot.

i had the same setup but just with the 2 batterys and 2gauge and 1 alt, in a 306 Dturbo, was noticibly better in the corsa.
i personally never use power caps, think there a waste of time.

My ICE is quite impressive, I too have a 90 with a wireless fitted. It's hooked up to a big speaker with a Woofta and a Tweaker in it fitted behind the seats.

I can only get Radio five live at the moment but am working on a bigger ariel in the hopes of getting radio 4 as well, annoying when it goes off under bridges though.

On the plus side I do have LW as well as MW and it takes my Abba tape;)

I've got a stereo in my 90 with some speakers. That's about the long and short of it. Nice big aerial which picks up French, English and Irish radio just incase I ever felt like deviating from Radio 2

Would love a decent radio but cant work out the wiring these days, my wireless has a red wire and a black wire and two plugs for the speakers, yes it is stereo:)

My radio was just a Kenwood from Argos I think. Not expensive and its got an aux output on the front so I can plug my mp3 player in. Luckily the wiring was already there from a previous attempt but it was a total mess. I just tore it all out and refitted it. Piece of ****, all it needs is a permanent 12v source for memory and connected to a switched live.

Whats an MB3:confused:

MB3 is possibly a postcode somewhere.

An MP3 player is a little electronic box that stores 1000s of songs and let's you play them from it. Mine has speakers so if I wish I can switch the little switch from headphones to speaker output and listen away. Though mine is quite dated now at about 5 years old but it still works perfectly well :)

Rrrr you poor sod Pete ill show you what mp3 is next time I come up to see you..

You can wire a stereo in for me an all, I got some that plays them new silver record things but don't know how to fix them up:rolleyes:

Got two Ford Granada speakers with them woofta things in and little tweakers so should be able to hear it.

Hows it going anyway:)

They have been really nasty and changed the wiring. My old one had a red and a black and speaker wires. When I put my new one in it had a red wire, yellow wire, black wire and loads of speaker wires.

Wasn't actually that difficult in the end and I did it myself. You join two of the speaker wires up, forget the rest. The you join the red and the yellow wire together and attach them to the old red wire.

And it works :D:D

However as mine is wired from the ignition the memory doesn't :eek::eek: Thats why there are two wires, one for the power and one for the memory. One has to have a permanent live, the other doesn't.

Never mind, it has an MP3 plug and when the ignition is on there are loads of lovely flashing lights :D:D:D

Sounds easy, I'll cut and paste those instructions and if it fries it's your fault:D

:eek::eek::eek:

I forgot you have to connect the black wire as well. Think that might be an earth

You're right of course.:)

My problem is that I don't have plugs for the back of any of the radios so will have to find out which pin does what and get some small connector thingys to push on to spikes:)

We can arrange a time soon Pete and ill wire it all in for you.

I'm good goin away in mine over the weekend so fingers crossed it all works and gets me there.
