Hi all. New to this forum and impressed.

I live in France and a friend here who is about to buy a new car has offered me his 1992 TDi Discovery free - yes FREE! It has over 18 months MOT (The MOT in France lasts for two years), had the boot welding done last year, is regularily serviced and has five new tyres. He can't get anything for it in France as it is a right hand drive and he does not want to take it back to the UK. It is registered in France.

My question is should I take it?

It might sound silly but the reason I am asking is obviously the running costs and maintainance. It would not be my main vehicle and only used occasionally.

Any tips you could give would really help.

Brilliant.

Not sure when this will happen as he has just told me but I do know he has been looking at a new vehicle so it could be any time. I will let you know via this forum if and when I get it.

Thanks for offering to help.
