am i doing the right thing ?

id like some advise, i have a 94 300tdi disco, it is in good condition with just a small amount of bodywork wanting doing and only 1007,000 on the clock, i only use it for pulling a caravan, no off road, and have the chance of swapping it for a 1989 defender 90 it as the old 2.5D engine that as been reconditioned, showing 130,000, also no off road, it does need a respray and it is from a good friend .
What do you think should i swap or not ?

got to ask why would you want to swap for something that is slower, noisier, bloody uncomfortable to drive, and uses more fuel .... to be honest i can think of a whole list of cons and no pros.

I say keep the disco. More power than an old 2.5

i was going to have a 300tdi engine fitted in it , it as full checker plate kit 2 sets of wheels and its got window fitted in the back, and needs no welding doing, my disco will need welding soon and new swivels before mot in July
I just seems the defender looks better with mods
somebody must think its a good deal ?

Defenders are noisey, slow, drafty and if you over 2 foot tall there is no room.
You will always have a smile on ya face behind the wheel

do it but swap engines if ya discos rotting

i tow a 23ft caravan with a 200 tdi defender 90

no probs at 60mph (300mile journeys)

and im on a defender transfer box

am i doing the right thing ?
