hi

I bought some of the ali side steps (genuine land rover) off flea buy yesterday so braving the rubbish weather I have gone outside to fit them.

Anyway all I got was the steps and i got a few of the correct sized bolts off my dad. Right first off has anyone got any instructions they could scan and post on here and secondly is there anything else I need to fit them? like nutsets or anything

cheers

They should have brackets attached to the steps that fit under the vehicle. You will also need to obtain some Rivnuts as there are simply holes under the vehicle with no thread for the bolts to fit into.

Can you PM an email address and I will see if I can get a copy of the instructions to you.

Regards,

Steve

hi
just fitted some side steps myself which i ordered from ebay too.... major problem with them is you need a RIVNUT GUN....like g1 has said the holes have no threads so you need to fit the rivnuts before you can bolt them on.... after going around all my local gargages i had no luck with anyone willing to help me...(half of them had never heard of a rivnut)..just a tip that may help.....try your local BODY REPAIR SHOPS ....they will have a rivnut guns ....someone gave me this advice and i was very lucky as the first body shop i tried i was able to borrow one....only takes 20 mins with the right tool....cost me a box of tea bags and biscuits for there workshop......good luck fitting them.....ps if you are unsure about rivnuts have look on youtube there are some helpful videos there..

They do push in to the holes, but you have to crush them so that they swell in the hole.

You can make a simple tool to do this - it is pictured in the instructions in your email inbox :)

Steve
