Just finishing off the wiring on the install of my 3.9 v8 (ex Disco) into my defender. Running the stock Lucas 14CUX EFi system, engine didn't come with loom installed, so been a bit of detective work, but all in now, except connecting the alternator. From what I can work out, its two connections, a signal line for the charge light (Brown/yellow) and the power supply (Brown) to the live terminal on the starter? However not sure how these hook up to the alternator. It looks like the power supply would connect to the big nut at the top, the charge light signal line to the middle post, and nothing to the blade terminal at the bottom? (not sure what that's for?).

Just thought I'd ask before hooking it up.

Thanks

John

Mystery,

Thanks, that's very helpful and confirms what i was thinking. I presume it earths through the engine and associated earthing strap to the chassis? Not sure what you mean by the suppressor though?

Appreciate the help

Cheers

John
