I have put an Isuzu 2.8td in my 90, the engine is great but I can't figure out how to wire the isuzu alternator to the 90 loom, is there any one who has done this and can help me out?

Alternators ain't rocket science, you will have 2 or 3 wires on your landy loom (what engine did it have?).

And the alt will have 3 or 4 maybe connectors, one will be big, and have B+ on it, this is the main charge wire, a heavy wire most likely brown, connect that up, now you need your excitor/charge light wire which will go to D+.

More info and a picture of the back of the alt would be good if you need more help, also don't be tempted to run the engine with the alt spinning and not connected to a battery.

The old engine was a 2.5 n/a diesel. The isuzu alternator has no markings near any terminals, i know which one is for the battery but i hav 3 terminals grouped together. The landrover loom has a yellow and brown wire which is for the charge lamp and then just the battery cables from the starter. No matter which of the three terminals i connect the charge lamp to it wont light up when the ignition is on, only when i turn the key for the glow plugs do i get the battery light?

if the 2.8 is like the 3.1 you will need the charge regulator thats under the bonnet too,
we have one as a tow motor at work and i have changed both these on it in the past, the wiring isnt that simple ether lookin at it,, but thats if its the same as the 3.1 tho !
