Classic1992 V8 auto - alternator has become a bit iffy - regulation of current seems random with surges of the electrical accessories ( fans, lights etc.).
I have obtained a replacement, allegedly of the correct type, but find that there is a less than obvious way of reconnecting the wiring.
The B+ terminal is obvious as is the W post ( which I gather is the tacho connexion). There is a further post without any obvious ID, contained in the same semi-circular plastic channel as the + feed, & also provision for a female spade connector adjacent to the B+.
So, places for 4 wires only 2 of which can be identified. Any ideas for which of the remaining 2 wires goes where? I am reluctant to find out by trial & error when installed as I shall need to replace the end connector of one or t'other or both which will be easier done before the alt is bolted on.
The wires are not colour coded in the way they should be according to my Haynes manual!
Thanks in advance!
