so, fitted turbo-first job on Landy, so chuffed but..........
when reconnecting hoses/pipes etc, metal pipe from low side of intercooler to turbo got a little too close to alternator blades making a hell of a racket when starting up! yesterday, car did approx 30 miles after this with no problems but after idling for 15mins this evening, i go out and battery dash light is on. little damage can be seen to alternator and it spins fine. so, how fragile are alternators to this kind of thing and am i likely i need a new one?
