Alternative to Perkins

Anybody tried fitting an Iveco 2.8TD engine out the Iveco Daily into a
LR or RR?Not that big an engine,108hp and a lot of torque from 2300 to
3500 rpm.Up to about 2003 they did not have much in the way of
electronics so quite an easy install if they would fit.

In all seriousness, why not fit a 200Tdi - 111hp, plenty of
torque from 1500rpm - and it's "easy" to fit. Ok, Defender
variants still cost a bob or two, but you can get a complete
Discovery for £500 now - the only tricky bit is the down pipe,
which any decent exhaust place can make, or can be bought
ready made for a small mortgage. Insurace is likley to be
easier too!
