Very well made video..
Had some fun in a D3 yesterday..
Nice vehicles they are
Indeed , that’s what I thought in it being so well made
Yah, happy days , so what ur views on it then plse , likes , dislikes
Likes.
1 - Nice looking LR big and chunky!
2 handles Well doesn't have near the amount of roll I thought it would have. / next to None!
3 Interior is comfortable very nice seating position if you are big in stature, unlike any other LR i've driven whiich is designed for people no taller than 5"10.!!
4 Being the 6spd very nice Box.
5 Also rather quick gets to 60 and above rather briskly. 2.7 remapped 245hp.
6 quiet cabin.
7 Actually prefer it to the L322 in terms of comfort. - bizarrely.
8 Tows really well.
9 Good brakes!
Dislikes.
1 This particular D3 had 20" wheels and tbf anything bigger than "18 i dislike on any 4x4.
2 thats it really.
can't think of anything I dislike!
Makes a change!
I would have one tomorra!!
Always nice getting someone else’s views
Ageee ref the tyres , I have some 235/70/17 cooper AT/3 on mine and must admit really comfy , we’re fantastic in the snow
Think that’s another thing , they don’t roll like I also thought before I bought one , they remain well planted for nearly a 3 ton motor
Yep also agree ref the quietness at motorway speeds
Did it have the electric seats and auto gearbox, the auto ZF I struggle to feel the gear changes
Is that the first ZF 6 x speed you’ve driven
Pleased you’ve finally had a test drive , plus bet u had a grin on ur face with how nice they drive
My S type has the 6spd which is nice but in the D3 it seems to be smoother it suits the 2.7 better IMHO.
It had leffer leccy seats which were very comfy.
TBF i'd prefer the cloth seats for the lack of a frozen arse in winter and a cooked arse in summer!!
And yes it did handle i found myself taking corners at above average speeds and tbh I didn't notice lol
I'd look at a V8
Although the 2.7 sounds good and pulls really well through the gears!
Ah yes , sorry forgot u had the jag , indeed lovely gearboxes
Got the cloth seats in mine , they were manual but converted them to electric , made the world of difference in comfort , particularly behind ur knees for support and also heard that the seats are good for tall people with enough leg room
Now ur talking , V8 would be awesome , I wouldn’t mind a D4 V8 , think it’s the jag 4.4 in them but ur now better
Glad u said that , see they don’t roll like a see saw, I imagine the one u drove had the suspension sorted out
After I had done mine it was like night and day
Know I sound like a record , but D3 is my favourite landy so far
D4 with a V8 would be nice!
The D3 was owned by the current owners father from new and has been maintained regardless of cost, much like yours!!
Oh yes the seats are very nice not rock hard!!
Also good footwell nice and wide!
V8 D4 would get my money TBH..
I'm 6ft 3 and I don't have the seat in my freelander all the way back. My series 3, on the other hand is built for midgets with very strong arms.3 Interior is comfortable very nice seating position if you are big in stature, unlike any other LR i've driven whiich is designed for people no taller than 5"10.!!
D3 forum is quite good, though some of the members are sensitive souls
I'm 6'2 but have a 38' leg which makes seat positioning interesting!I'm 6ft 3 and I don't have the seat in my freelander all the way back. My series 3, on the other hand is built for midgets with very strong arms.
