Alloy wheels

please don't get hooked on the dimples scenario...i've been there before and there is no complete answer. if you look at 17 inch treks they've got dimples, late triplesports dimples, early triplesport no dimples but were only available from 2001, so as you can see there is no real answer.

best bet would be to speak to yuor friwndly parts dept at your local land rover dealer on Monday and ask him to give you the description of the part numbers you have quoted.

or... get rid of these and buy ANY set of 17 inch wheels as they are GUARANTEED to fit!!!!!!!!!

Correction- not any set of 17 inch wheels will fit as for 98 to 2000 there was a set of 17" triple sports available as an accessory so caution is needed still.

My advise is to always ask the seller for the part numbers of each wheel and do a google search to what age car they came off.

It's a nightmare and takes some effort to avoid having the wrong wheels for your car

Thanks everybody,
I"m amazed no-one from Landrover had got to grips with this problem and brought out a Definitive list of which alloy wheels will fit which Freelander models.
Surely for them it would be a simple matter of looking up all the part numbers.
Anyway, thanks again and keep the posts coming in.

I'm not amazed - I'm disappointed - but not surprised.

We live in a world controlled by foreign accountants.

I'm sure that the owners of LandRover, both past and present, have little or no feeling of responsability towards us owners of vehicles long out of production.

I doubt that anybody in a shiny office in Mumbai (India), Dearborn (USA), or Munich (Deutschland) is interested in what might help you or me.

Unfortunately too - I doubt that Dr Speth in Gaydon has authority to spend one Rupee of Tata Motors Ltd profits on compiling any historic fitment list.

An opportunity for an enthusiastic owner perhaps???

Couldn"t agree with you more.
It"s a pity that nobody has resurrected the Freelander club, but with a magazine which has more technical help and advice, and sections where you could sell Cars and Parts and Freelander owners can show off their vehicles.
I would certainly give it a go if I had help and some financial backing. It would be the ideal place to advertise whatever you have for sale without incurring any additional selling fees.
Just a thought
