I've had enough of my black alloys so have purchased a set of silver hurricanes from eBay.

The wheels arrived today but will need a refurb. Does anyone have any recommendations of a good silver paint to use? My experience of the Halford's paint is that it's a bit dark.

Once I've got them all looking nice I'll put some new tyres on them and then my black hurricanes will be up for sale, stay tuned!

The only way IMO is professional powder coat, paint does not last.

Fair enough. I refurbed the wheels on the Merc I sold to make way for the Rangey and they still looked good two years on, and the wheels I refurbed on the Jeep I had also lasted well.

As long as you prepare the surfaces properly and let the paint and lacquer dry and harden its fine.

I always used car body paint that way i can pick the colour
Use a propper primer and laquor .last set i did was on a mondeo blended 4colours to go from black in the middle to silver on the rim did that 6years ago and i know the guy that now has them and still look ok

there is a great company in Swindon.
they chemically strip, ensure wheel is true, powdercoat.

About three days turn around.
4 wheels for about £200.

even wheeler dealers dont use rattle cans on wheels lol, if you use 2k laquer it will be fine. vauxhall star silver, code 157 is a pretty standard wheel colour to use.

I used proper paint from a rattle can made by a local specialist
