ARGH!!!:(
Hello all, Sorry i haven't been on for a while funny when all is going well!
O.K. now to the serious stuff, As i said all was well until a month ago when the dreaded book symbol came up. I managed to trace it to the distribution,Out came the dash and the servo Although after stripping the servo apart i found it looked nearly new and in perfect working order. The next idea was a sticky flap so i fiddled with it! and seemed to be better. I put it all back together and success,Until a week ago  ,Same problem same area did the same things and no luck.
Is it possible the flap has gone out of limits? When i turn my ignition on the servo moves slightly in one direction and then back and thats when the book appears (Diagnostics i guess?).
Any help appreciated as usual :)

Seems a bit brutal!!! not seen that one before. You keep asking about the supra :( she had to go! but maybe one day ;) . He He. Hows your beat going? (all of them!!!:D )

brutal, there is a joint in the casing where the screw goes! not as bad as cold chisel lol

i assume beat = fleat!
Omega is for sale, no longer used! the rest are tip top.
last i heard i thought you trying to sell soop! didnt know it gone already! well if i did i forgot LOL.....

im gona try the screw method on mine, i dont get a lot of air to footwells!

are you using the aircon?
I noticed this the other day - i had it on for about 20 mins and the book apeared- went back to the car an hour later and it had gone- but i do notice when the aircon is on it does come on and then dissappear- i regularly flick through all the air positions ( just so they get movement) and filick on the aircon for 10 mins a week in the winter months just to get the fluids flowing.
I think the grease in the gears in blend motors is the wrong type- you stick the aircon on and it makes the grease stiffer and the motor cant turn as freeley- therefore registering the fault ( book)- turn thh aircon off and the symbol dissapears....

if you have a P38 with climate control the air con is always on, well on and off constantly!

I actualy meant beast, was too tired last night sorry. I sold her months ago but she went to a good home. Has anyone else tried the screw method? Please let me know ta.:D

my beast, is exactly that at the moment, it a fire breating monster since the mods, especially from the exhaust! its well coolio!
off the road for may as im doing mayor front end work! back in june though i hope!

I've found that if my P38 sits out in the sun (which it often does in Tuscany) and the external temperature reading goes above 20C then if the auto setting is on below the external temperature reading, then the book symbol comes on, stays on until the external temperature monitor drops to a reasonable level, but book only goes if I turn off ignition and so effectively re-boot. Aircon seems to work regardless.

All fixed thanks to a screw and patience!!!! ;) And thanks to eightinavee for re-establishing my faith in myself.

what screw? the self tapping screw in casing joint? come on spill the beans....................LOL

and i think mine is to do with the directional flap too so come come with them beans............

O my god beans everywhere :D
Hello bud, Yes it was the self tapper method and a bit of wiggling, Not the easiest job but OK. Been reading about the possible meet, Sounds good. When alls arranged I'm sure we'll be there.

i know what im doing tomorrow now! was meant to be under cabriolet with porta power but that gona be wednesday now so R/R here i come!

and yes keep an eye on the meet thread, seems to have stirred a fair bit of interest! its good i think......

edit!
the dash was out in 5 mins flat, bolts loosened amd self tapper in, checked the movement of the cogs n stuff before and after, it can be seen through hole the speedo binacle exposes when removed, dont seem much difference as the vent to screen dont shut of completely still! have more air going down though so lets hope it works and get no more book on hevac display.

yet another edit!
on closer inspection of the picture i see the seem of the heater housing runs vertical, this is obviously what the self tapper is meant to open, i screwed mine into the horizontal seem! ****! taken apart and done again propperly! now we see what happens!
