Alarms and lights! So Much NOISE!

Hello everyone this is my first ever post on this website, YAY!!

Last Thursday i got myself a 2001 land rover TD5 county 90......i love it.....never had anything that i enjoy driving around in more whether it be on road or off, but i started getting a few problmes with it, one being that the battery is knackered but im gonna put a new one in no problems, the second is the handbreak dosnt go down past the last click and needs re-ajusting thats fine too, the only one i cant figure out is my alarm keeps making noise when i turn my lights on,

this happens when i turn my lights on (they dont actually come on instead its like the light stick is now an alarm stick) when the car is off or on, moving or stationary, side lights and full lights, the only lights that work and dont affect the alarm is when i pull the lever back for my beams, then i get no alarm and full beams aslong as i keep the lever pulled back like permenantly flashing my lights.

Thanks for the link and i have introduced myself will try out a few things they mentioned.

I know its a little late on the post but i got the problem sorted, was a bad earth behind the dash, needed cleaning and re wiring, quick job

Never too late. I wish more people would report back on how they solved their LR related problems. I, and I am sure many others, have wasted a lot of time following threads that don't come to a conclusion. So good on you, this thread may help someone else.

great you fixed it and even better you let us know the solution!! So many times someone asks and finds but never tells what the outcome was meaning no one else can learn from it
