Alarming Non Flash

I should have asked this ages ago, but here goes...

99 Petrol P38 when I press the plip to lock/unlock, I get nothing from the four way flashers.

I would kinda like to activate it so I know it definitely locked or unlocked because I find myself having to check.

The battery in the fob must be right at the end of it's life as I sometimes have to get close to the car to get it to work.

So is there an easy way or will I have to go see Hamish?

Switched using Nanocom on mine. I switched it off.

Thought it might make sense since I also have a 2004 Jaguar XK8 with the 6 speed auto & 4.2 V8.

No not for a P38 may do a bit on petrol engines but nothing else. .

Says Range Rover from 1999. Seems to rely on ODB2. I think a generic ELM reader off eBay coupled with Torque would do as much as that, i.e. not a lot!

If you have to get close to the car to use remote, check the blue wire on rf receiver often pulled to stop battery drain.

That would be good if I knew where the RF receiver was

No it's been getting worse slowly. The car sat for five years so I imagine the batteries in the remote are even older

New batteries AND a new twisty bit (Hamish had to employ a huge flat screw driver to get the old one to move) for eight quid.
