Alarming discovery.... I think

Was under my Landy today, sorting out the earth cable and saw this.... Please don't tell me that, that hole is the drain plug hole for my gearbox oil??? Please. Because if it is, I have no idea how long it's been missing.

YEAH, If you go wading , put a wading plug in there. You have one on the timing case as well. If you read the manual they should be mentioned.

Its threaded to fit a wading plug if driving through deep water but normally left without the plug in place.
