My 2001 Td5 110 has a factory alarm which I have never used (thought key fob was knackered) or heard sound. Whilst replacing the batttery today the alarm started to sound on reconnection. It went off after a while but now the alarm light in the centre of the speedo is flashing permanently. If I disconnect the battery and reconnect the same happens and I can't get the flashing light to go out. The key fob does nothing.

I have the alarm security code but can't work out where it is supposed to be entered in? Any ideas - original radio long gone.....

HELP!

jip, sounds like re calibration needed, as above post, also search the topic, there is a lot of info regarding thisproblem

Thanks for the responses. I did search but didn"t find anything exactly accurate to this problem.

For benefit of future searches; this problem is now resolved and the alarm light is now out. I followed the emergency starting procedures in the manual which involve a sequence of turning the ignition key on and off and opening and closing the drivers door to enter the access code. A bizzare and rather ritualistic process but if you follow the rather confusing instructions in the owner manual it does work. As the process involves opening and closing the drivers door to enter the code make sure all of your door activated interior light switches are working properly - my tailgate switch wasn't working properly so the vehicle wassn"t registering doors opening and closing in the correct sequence so I had to fixed this first ... once I clicked.

ohhhh don't you love landies
