Aircon Service - P38

Looking to get aircon re-gassed and serviced, does anyone know any of the national chains doing a good deal on this, or someone local to Swindon?

My 4.6 Vogue (2000 X reg) hasn't had functioning AC since I bought her last year, I'm assuming its just re-gassing as the rest of her is in good condition and I know the previous owner hadn't done it.

I did read that the AC should be serviced every two years, but I get vastly different responses when I enquire about it, it seems that:

Re-gas - refill gas and appropriate oil anything from £35-50 inc VAT

Service - Re-gas + new pollen filters, bio-cide to kill anything living in it £50+

Is there anything else that should be done, ??

I was also told to remove the foam rubber around the radiator behind the metal grill on the condenser.

take it to kwick fit if theres one near you they will recharge for about 40 quid but if theres a leak its usualy free,or try a refill can from e-bay,if it wont recharge it will probably be the condenser has a hole in the top right hand corner

Been looking further I need to replace the Plenum filter(its in pieces) and pollen filters, looking a bit ropey.

Any suggestions of anything else worth doing at the same time before I get her re-gassed?
