Thanks but will the clutch even engage if there is not enough pressure at the pressure switch located on the drier?
I also thought that I should be able to see air bubbles in the sight glass on the drier if the gas was low?
I'd like to rule anything else out first as I think it could be pricey to sort the gas out as it runs on the old R12 stuff. I can't find any of this gas online and it looks like it's a case of replacing the drier if I change to the new gas.
I would say the air I'm getting isn't any colder than ambient. I would think if the gas was low but not low enough to activate the pressure switch and prevent the compressor from engaging I'd at least be getting air a little colder than ambient?
If there's a relatively inexpensive way to refill I'll give that a go first but at the moment I can't find any R12. I don't know if it could be a blocked hose from the compressor to the condenser. Does anyone know if the hot pipe from the compressor should feel just warm at the condenser end?
