Hi,

Since i bought my p38 2.5dse 1995 it shows an airbag fault.
Nanocom gives the next codes:
-drivers airbag measures open circuit
-passenger airbag measures open circuit
-left hand crash sensor measures open circuit
-right hand crash sensor measures open circuit
-harnash Check register measures open circuit
-airbag warning lamp meaasures open circuit
And sometimes I also get
-both crash sensors measure open circuit

I was told to check/change the contact ring in the steering wheel, so I did.
I resetted the faultcodes by my nanocom.
Even when nancom does the reset, the fault massages keep showing on the cars display.

Any advice how to narrow this down?

Btw: the system consist of the 2 sensors behind the headlights, no sidesensors

As a rule, all the airbag sensors get corrosion in the plugs as most 38's take on water... Cut the plugs and hard wire them with either solder or good butt connectors. Its rare the actual airbags fail.
Once done clear the faults and go from there.
👍

Too many things showing open circuit there, have you checked the connector at the SRS ECU? Also check the OBD connector for corrosion which may be interfering with communication.
