Thought I'd put this on yesterday but obviously hit the wrong button. Have done a search but not found this problem listed. A friend of mine has a 1995 2.5D which he refuses to part with (having spent so much probably) which had the usual EAS problem in January. Too many probs with it so we converted it to coils (reluctantly). A new BeCM had to go in too as the old one was completely goosed - not reading or responding etc. The other thing that showed up was his AIRBAG FAULT message which has been tied down to the connector spring on the bag itself on the steering wheel. New one fitted and the light and warning now go off as they should however they come back on for two minutes before going off again. It only happens at start up and not at switch off when the warnings usually come on again e.g. bulb failure or window not set etc. Any ideas anyone of electrical knowhow? PS it passed the MOT but the tester was a bit wary because of this.

Its a testbook its been on but turns out the machine is faulty so he used another diagnostic to check and it doesnt show. Maybe get it back on rhe T4 once he's sorted it. So you reckon an incomplete clear of the fault? Pretty obvious when you stop and rethink.

The light will usually stay on with a fault, however, it's a system that is difficult not to say dangerous to fault find without diagnostics. Given the other faults you mention, it could be a more general electrical fault, bad earths etc.
have you checked the battery voltage and the voltage from the alternator? The SRS does not like low voltage.

Had a bit of trouble with SRS light on mine couple years ago turned out to be just a bit of a bad connection on fuse in under bonnet fuse box just pulled the fuse and put it back been ok since.

It's a relatively new battery although that doesn't always mean much. Mine needed a new one at the start of last winter and another (under warranty) just a week or two back after a cell failed. I'll have a look at the fuses - I think it's number 23?
