any idears,
i had new airbags fitted last summer all great did not go down over night or any othertime, then i hit a speed hump about 30mph on a dirty black wet dark night, then rear suspention start to drop overnight but not by much, and would go back up when restarted, then some months later the rear end air bags started to go down and would not come back up, so took of road and used the other car, then as it stood the battery whent down, so recharged and started up but nothin happen with the suspention, so brought a EAC KICKER from ebay out of all the colour codes to reset it came up with the no communication one long blue light folled bu short red flash, so got a mobile guy out to set it with his diognostic tool, but same responce no communication, so he sugested i got another EAS unit, got that garenteed no faults disconected battery plugged in left ignition on for five mins started up and left running for 20 mins , but still nothin happen so i plugged in the EAC KICKER and got the same responce no communication, i dont want to go to landrover to end up with £500+ bill so i am desparate for idears, i cannot see as there is a wire pulled or broken as they have not been disturbed, ok hope someone can help, now the other cars clutch has gone, and its bloody cold out there even for a cool cruizer, .
many thanks in advance !:)

No communication is probably corroded connections on the OBD socket on the footwell or even the wires corroded off. The fact that the fault occurred after you hit a speed hump suggest something has come adrift, check the relay under the passenger seat is still in place for a start.
Better still, sort out the communication problem first, that will give you the fault codes to show what is wrong. Better than the kicker in my opinion is the free software to run on your laptop from www.rswsolutions.com which covers about everything on the EAS. No good if the comms don't work tho:eek:

Hi,
It sounds like you have two faults on the car. The first would have been caused when you went over the speed bump. when you had the air bags fitted if the pipes are not correctly inserted they can leak.

as for the no communication fault, i agree that sounds like a problem with the plug in the foot well and not the cars ecu.

check all of the connections on the plug etc, also where are you located? great independent place near matlock, DLS landrover. give them a call, they are always happy to help me.

hi thanks for the info, maybe there is a wire of not sure what route that bunch of wires take from under the foot well maybe you have seen them befor let me know, as for the relay under the passenger seat is it like the yellow one's in the fuse box under the bonnet as i did not see this relay when i changed the eas unit, i noticed there was another alloy box behind it, this is not it is it, as i am thinking it will be just a small plastic box,
ok hear back when you get chance,
many thanks. pete .

yes i am begining to think rou are both right i will take a good look at this connection tomorrow and let you both know what happens, the guy in matlock is a bit far as i am in coventry but i gues it would be good for advise over the phone,
many thanks for your reply's
pete

Maybe a stupid suggestion: How do you use the EAS Kicker? I mean: is the Range on or off contact? To read/reset fault, your car must be ón contact.

On mine the relay is black, bigger than the under bonnet ones and is near the left side of the passenger seat mountings, I think it also leans at a bit of an angle if I remember it rightly. Can't check at the moment.:D
