Bloody air suspension, where to start. When it works its brilliant when it doesn't its dreadful. There's so much that can go wrong between pump, valves, wiring, sensors and the bags themselves, I've had enough.
Under the rear right wing liner there is a valve for the rear bags,so I disconnected the 2 pipes for the air bags and plumbed them up into the boot and put two tyre valve fittings on them. The front right wing liner holds the valve for the front airbags and I plumbed the 2 pipes into the engine bay and put two tyre valve fittings on them.
Now every 3 to 4 weeks I give them a little bit of air from my 200l compressor in my shed to put them to what ever bloody height I want them. Never again will it for no reason decide to drop on the road or worse, keep pumping till one of the rear bags blew. Be sure to take out the relay for the compressor.
I have always loved the BMW td6, it is a fantastic engine and now I've got a suspension that wont ever annoy me again.
