hi all.

Suspension seems ok but every now and then all day long the suspension takes about 10 mins to rise to normal driving height.

6 out of 7 days it works perfect, pumps up fast but once in a while it just decides " no i dont want to to that today"

any ideas. im slowing getting round to re newing most major parts of the car and the air bags are on my list. i've heard horror stories about them, but hope this wont be the start of another one.

any ideas ppl??????

update, tonight i have run the car and got the car to go to full height.
then i drop car to low and then lifted up full again and it shot up fast. tried it again and took 10 mins. looks like weak pump like i have been told, but just to check the car is on high setting over night and have been advised to disconnect hight sensor connection under pass seat.
so hopefully will find out in the morning if there is a leak or just pump.
i visually checked the bags and they look pretty new to be honest. no corroding signs anywhere. was suprised. but when i checked the front pass airbag air line i thought i felt a very slight leak around the bag to pipe connection.
i will check it more tomorrow started raining.

question......where does the air line connect to the rear air bag. couldnt see it. everytime i looked up i was getting rain water in my face.
bottome or top of bag???

If the bags are leaking, leaving it at full height may disguise the fact.

went out and looked at car this morning and 3 wheels are at about 53cm. rear driver side was at 47cm.
cant tell if it has moved because i forgot to measure them last night. lol. <<<<dippy

anyway. its still taking forever to lift. pump is working. i can hear it.
seems if i just leave the car running for 10-15 minutes then it pupms up as normal.

Still think its the pump???

R-R forum look at "emergency valve" thread: Wammers answer#11 explains about the pump. Just because it`s making noise don`t mean it`s working.
Have you looked at www.rswsolutions yet? All will be made clear.

thanks, i will search for it and yes i saw that website last night. very good site. answered so many questions i had.

im just going to check for leacks with water bottle. dont think i will find any but worth a try to eliminate it.

i've sprayed all the connections and air lines where i can get to and cant see any leaks. put suspension up and went up as normal, tried to do it again and back end went up at half speed and front took for ever.
loosing pressure in pump by the looks of it.
can anyone recomend a decent priced pump.

brand new one on ebay for £180. is that good ??

Island4X4 also at £179.99. Original Dunlop. Free UK dely. Others may differ but I always check them last, and normaly buy from them. Good range at competitive prices. (and no I ain`t a shareholder). Dunno what others think, but I`ve heard nowt bad about `em?

P.S. If your existing pump still strong on the electric/brushes side of things a seal replacement kit maybe all that`s necessary?

Thanks for suggesting that thread, printed it off and tested the pump. its now off the car and its gonna be stripped to find the problem.

small (and i meen small) suction on inlet, and a perfetic amount coming from oulet. cant see where the exhaust is tho.
Where do i look for that?? not that it matters much as there aint no pressure building up.

thanks again.

The exhaust valve is on EAS box. Standing at front left wheel on far side of EAS box, under pipe#11. Should have dirty looking white silencer/filter device screwed into it.
But as you say, pump first. Lots of threads about rebuilding `em.

ok i have taken the outlet off the pump and i can see the piston inside it.
looks like a white seal around the piston itself is cracked and broken. cant find my 8mm socket to get the 2 bolts out from other end.

what seals should i check and most likley need changing??

oooooo just figured out whats up with it.

piston ring is fooked, and also i go a loose pin on the cable.

any idea where i can get a good rebuild kit????
