hi guys, have an issue with suspension. Purchased p38 5 years ago and one of the airbags on the suspension had been replaced. Now having issues with the car sitting down on its suspension by the morning. It is sitting down on the one airbag that was replaced. The other 3 are old and need replacing, so thought if there was a leak it would have sat down on them or gone down all around. Any ideas ? Thanks

Soapy water time methinks. Mind you if all 4 need replacing I think I would do that first.

Could be that there is a leak on the pipe going into the new airbag or a problem with a height sensor or valve block. Get a set of new airbags and fit them then look for the problem if you still have one

If they are cracked, they will be leaking. Easy enough to do yourself, look in "How To" at the top of the page for my replacement guide

OLL99 and All,
Sorry to hijack this thread, but I have a very similar problem.
My drivers side rear drops right the way down after a few hours. The front stays up fine and the passenger rear side drops slightly (I assume trying to compensate for the other side.)
When I start the car up, the suspension does return to the correct height in reasonable time, but slower than usual and therefore I would guess that it is either having to refill the bag or the reservoir or both.
I still need to check whether the compressor switches itself off when enough air is in the system or runs continuously (trying to replace leaking air)
I also need to do a more thorough soapy water check, but so far the valve block area hasn't thrown up any leaks.
As the car takes a few hours (2-4) to drop, I am assuming that I have a slowish leak.
My thinking is that the non-return valves, valve block and reservoir are ok and the problem is either a drivers side:-
1) leaking rear air bag.
2) leaking rear air line.
3) faulty rear height sensor.
Reading the previous replies, I think I am on the right lines!!

Hi again,
Think I've found my problem. No expensive tools used either, just my ears!!
Pumped system up to look for problem and suddenly just heard the air hissing out.
New rear bags for me then.

Don't be tight, do the fronts as well if you haven't already done them as they will be shot too

Well you won't have wasted your time but you may find you still have a problem if the fronts are leaking. Easier to hit the lot in one go IMO
