Hi all
Need to know if anyone can point me in the right direction. Drivers side front bag every now & then drops, its the only bag that does it & it only happens every now & then. When I start her up the bags all work fine & not slow in doing so. I first thought that it may be perferations in the bag or something so I have bought 2 new bags for the front but now im thinking it may just be a sticky valve or something? Is there anyway for me to know for sure what is causing the problem? Would a diagnostic test tell me if it was a valve not working properly? & if so what diagnostic test kit do I need to use? & is there anyone local to me that can help me with this? :D
Any help greatly appreciated
Cheers
Lee

It's most likely the bag is leaking, they develop splits that open and close where the bag folds under. They have a design life of 7/8 years 80K miles so probably all need to be replaced if the haven't been done before you have one blow.
If it's not the airbag suspect the sensor, valves rarely cause that kind of problem.
Free software for your laptop from RSWsolutions and a cable that I can supply together with a CD with the software, my airbag replacement guide and a copy of RAVE will cover all your EAS needs.:)

At some point in P38 ownership you ARE going to need EAS diagnostics, maybe not for an airbag change but sooner or later it will come in handy, unless you want to pay a garage to clear faults.

Yes i am fully aware that it is good sense to have diag available. But you should not need it after a bag change.
