Hi,

My air suspension packed in yesterday. Initially Loud hiss from rear of of car + then it wouldnt adjust height. It maintaned height until I stopped for a while about an hour later and it dropped down onto the bump stops and now reads eas fault 35 mph max. (60 miles from home towing a trailer. not a pleasant journey. My passenger was sea sick:):5bpuke:)

Q1 where is the most likely place to look for the leak. there was no bang just a loud hiss for a few seconds.

Q2 Do I need to reset the system somehow as it doesnt even try to inflate now. and the Dash (suspenion switch) has lit up like a christmas tree.

Thanks

Stephen

Sounds like you have a burst airbag. Whilst it was running, it would keep the others inflated but once you stopped, it would lower it onto the bumpstops with the attendant 35mpg message. Bloody horrible isn't it! You'll probably have to put it up on ramps to see where / which bag has burst or where the problem is. Remember to always replace the bags in pairs. There have been lots of threads on here on airbag replacement.
You'll have to get the faults read or download the free software from RSW solutions, buy a connecting lead for your laptop (if you have one) and read the faults yourself. You can also reset them using this software.

thanks. Would the faulty corner not drop immediately as in this case it didnt? the whole car stayed up then dropped uniformly.

Found the problem. The air pipes on top of the chassis leg had been burst by hot gases escaping from a small hole in box that I have been meaning to get repaired:5bblush5:. Fixed the leaks and have arranged with a local guy to have it reset tomorrow.

Thanks for your help
