Be gentle its my first Discovery! :) after px'in my Defender.

Been having problems with my rear suspension i know do a search! :p

Well i have done, been having problems with the rear dropping... had loads of info for this on prev threads...

Checked the air bags soapy water test ect checked the compressor, checked the pipes from the compressor all fine.

Ive just narrowed it down too..... it only drops when ive been in the boot.
The 3 times its happened is when ive opened and put stuff in or been in the boot.

Happended today after i'd been in the back cleaning the windows inside!
Got out the back went in the house came out again it had dropped.

is this normal? seen a couple of threads on some remote control fob which i dont have to lower the rear... to do with towing?

is there a sensor in back that lowers the car when you put something in?

Please help its driving me nuts wondering if there is a problem or not?

the simplest first thing u can try is to swap the ride height sensors from one side to another.... disconnect the battery first, do the swap then see what happenas... if no joy i'll tell u more... it's normal to drop a bit after u leave the car but not down all the way >
"Normal ride height
When the vehicle is stationary, a door is open and the ignition is off, the SLS system will allow the rear of the vehicle to lower to within 20 mm of the normal ride height as load is removed from the vehicle"

It drops right down to the floor (with the door open) but more on the driver side rear for some reason...

Start her up again levels up and no further problems until i put something in the boot!

Just noticed it has no rear bumps stops on the rear axle...

My thinking is then the O/S drops a little holds fine
But the N/S sensor is not working right so it drops all the way to the floor?
Does this make sense??

That's why i said to swap them ... this way they'll work on the unused part of them.....or replace them with new ones.... this is the healthy way ... if u decide to replace sensors ... replace them both... anyway they are a kind of "consumable items".
