Does anyone have any tips on how to secure the back 2 hex bolts when replacing the air filter housing?

The front 3 are easy but back 2 just keep turning round?? very frustrating!

Yep undo the front ones and put the housing on properly, it can be a right bstrd.......and they wont tighten unless it is on as its supposed to be.
I find tightening the rears first is always the best option.

wot he says & he's right it is a bastard.

I had bother with mine when trying to fit a pattern air filter - it would not screw down no matter what I did yet if I put the Landrover filter back on the housing would fit fine!

I agree seat the cover first it can take a few goes i nipped a chunk out of my airfilter on one atempt it is a pig !

Make sure that the lip on the cover is inside the box and use a long Allen key do it reached above the cover

as said above, the cover only fits in one way and you have to get the back left of it in the right recess before you even think about tightening it....check where the back left of the lid is going before you worry about seating the whole thing )

I found it an "easy" way to fix the cover if I stood on the right hand side of the car (just next to the right front wheel) and leaning over the bumper I could reach with my left hand behind the engine and follow the lip of the cover etc.. to have it placed correctly inside the housing. Once that done it's an easy job with a long Allen key to fix the screws.
