Air Con Temperature Difference

It was 28deg outside today. I put the air con/climate control (never quite sure what difference is) and set the passenger and driver settings to 19deg. The passenger side certainly was pumping out chilled air, but the driver side did not. It did feel cooler than outside but certainly didn't have the chill of the passenger side.

When I changed the setting to 16 deg for both sides the passenger side got colder but the driver side remained the same.

Would anyone know what I need to check/change to find out why there is a temerature difference between the driver and passenger side even with the settings at the same level?

It sounds as if the blend flap or the motor operating it may be sticking, It may be worth doing a manual check on it to rule out any electronic fault. i have (hopefully) attatched the instructions to do this taken from the rave manual.

Its common for the temps to be diff from side to side, and it always seems to be the drivers side that goes warmer first..............Usually indicates a low gas pressure / charge.

When was the aircon last serviced ?
 
Air conditioning = Just refrigerated air operated by a simple on/off switch

Climate control = A more advanced air conditioning system. It's still refrigerated air but the system controls the cabin temperature by keeping it at a specified temperature. This is defined by the driver

I had climate control in my last car (BMW 3 Series) Now I just have normal air con in my gaylander. I hate playing with knobs all the time!

I will try the manual test and if that doesn't help I'll take her to a air con place to have the charge checked etc. I am not sure when the AC was last checked as I have just bought it and as you can probably tell from my posts, this is my first Land Rover too. So its a learning curve all the way.

All working great, I took it to a local engineers who confirmed low gas, recharged her and she now reaches some very low temps. It seems that if the drivers side is warmer than the passengers then its a good chance that its running out of refrigerant and needs topping up. Certainly worked on this ocassion.

Biggeeee; thanks for the tip. I do try to stear clear of the big guys as they have no interest in individuals coming off the street. I try to stick to local guys that have something to loose if things go wrong.

Again I have foud another good local service and I'll be going back to them again.
