Hello Again everyone.

Now to the next job on my RR 2.5DSE 1998 S Plate.

When I got my RR the lady said the Air Con did not work because the bolt had snapped on a pulley, that she gave me.

Yesterday I changed the Serpentine belt and while I was at it checked out the Air con, and there was all sorts of cord wrapped around the back of it I tried to have a look but I could not see if there was a bolt still in there.

After looking on the Rave disk, I have a couple of questions,

How dangerous is the coolant?

Do I have to take any precautions if I disconnect the pipes from the pump?

And finally the manual mentions something about oil in the pump not getting around the system, how do I make sure that the is enough oil has gotten around it before I start it up, and can I check this level before starting it up?

This for the moment is my last job, touch wood.

Thanks

No you are not being stupid........
Kwik Fit or any aircon firm will empty the system for you and the cost should be very small.
Check the condition of the "O" rings on the hose connections and replace if necessary whilst you have them disconnected.

Thanks for the reply.

Will any pump from any P38 or do I need to get one for the 1998 DSE.

You have been very helpful, I will change the O rings while I am at it anyway.

Thanks

Ray
