I have had a search and can’t find the answer to this question?

My Air con compressor is seized the part number on it is 447200 and I have been offered a good compressor with the part number 44700.

Will it fit? Does anyone know the difference between them if any?

As it would be nice to have it working for next summer. Mine is a 97 300Tdi ES not sure what the compressor I have been offered has come off apart from it being a 300Tdi engine?

Thanks for any help

Hi thanks for that link, I sure wont be buying a new one at that price thats for sure.

I will get the one i have been offered and let you all know if it fits, its looking like it will :D

don't forget if you are opening the aircon that you will need to get the gas removed first and before you re-gas it it will need the filter/dryer replacing and the correct ammount of PAG oil adding to the system otherwise you will end up with another seized compressor

Cheers G-man I did not realise that, thought i could just swap it over and regas it

Best I fit it then take it to a specialist to do the rest

Thanks for the help guys

When i bought it 3 months ago the aircon seemed to run but was not very cold, so I asked the dealer i was buying it from to have it re-gassed as part of the deal.

When i picked it up he said they re-gassed it but the compressor was siezed. I said fair enough leave it. A couple of days later i saw this

There were 2 blown fuses on the inner wing, gods knows what they had done, so I have a bit of rewiring to do as well
