Air Bags?

Thanks for the reply, but I'm more confused now as there are two 200 tdi's 1998 on Autotrader, I was thinking of going to look at one but really want a model (300 or 200 or Td5 if cheap enough) with twin airbags. One of the 200's on Autotrader is fairly local, so thought I'd take a look.

thats a 300 tdi,handle removed for air bags
Ok the 200tdi went out about 1994-1995 and the front looks like this
Some did have airbags but only very few
The 300Tdi replaced them and ran until 1999 in the disco yes the ones that dont have the grab handle (that is where the pasanger one is have duel airbags
The 300s look like this
Note the change over year was reg L / M

They must have advertised it as a 200 tdi by mistake. Obviously it doesn't have a passenger airbag then as it has the grab handle. Thanks for your help. I'm looking for a Discovery as I want to tow a horse trailer, but as it will be my only vehicle I'm hoping to get one with the airbags for safety, as my family will travel in it. Would prefer auto as have driven auto for last 5 years - but drove manual previously for over 20 years. Once again thanks for your help.

Have you got a good toolkit? Are you happy to service it and repair it yourself? Can you weld?
If the answer to more than two of these is "no" then you should be looking for something newer than a 300TDI

That one hasn't got a drivers airbag either.
I have changed an air filter and an air inlet hose on a Hilux lol.
Getting back to Discos, I have found a mechanic who specialises in Land Rovers. He completely revamps geriatrics - whatever needs doing, including welding, exhausts, whole boot floor replacements, etc and services them (oil change etc) before selling with 12 months MOT. I visited today and he showed me a Disco that was being stripped down, new boot floor, bodywork etc. He showed me an engine running and explained all sorts of things, he doesn't hide anything from customers, lets you see the vehicles with work in progress with no pressure to buy. He's working on one at the moment that I like the look of, so I'm going to see it when its ready - 1997, 115,000 miles.
Thanks for the advice. I'm beginning to recognise which Disco's have airbags and which don't now.

It's the higher specced ones that will have them in like the Es model.
