I have a restored on galavanised chassis 1982 SWB Series 3 with 200tdi conversion.. and I took out a policy from Adrian Flux with agreed value of £5000. However at just 16:30 on the day policy began a Calibra pulled out in front of me with the result that the vehicle is a write off.
Now here the tricky bit, I have photos taken in the last three months of Landy which I submitted but as they were not taken after the policy took effect they say...

Unfortunately we are unable to accept the photographs submitted for the Agreed
Valuation as they were taking prior to the policy starting and they do not guarantee
the current condition of the vehicle. We appreciate that due to the incident you are
unable to take any photographs at this time. However, these can be submitted at
any point during the policy so if/when the vehicle is repaired, updated photographs
can be forwarded to us. It is with regret that we must advise that should the vehicle
be written off then your pay-out may be based on market value only.

Nice!! It seems a mite unreasonable I think, I do have a couple of snaps taken earlier in that fateful day but which I can discuss with them and I have the engineer coming to value the wreckage this week! Any ideas chaps?!!
Thanks!
Charles

typical insurers.. reckon they'd have used the same excuse regardless of when crash happened. I:E pics are old now so no longer valid. Use ya legal services to sue vauxhall driver for anylosses you suffer & I mean any losses even doiwn to new undies cos ya **** yours when he ranmed ya..

financial services ombudsman, breach of contract, look at crock of **** thread in general section

fook me, just seen the pics.
cant offer advise with insurance unfortunately, hope someone else can.

how did it end up balanced on the door?

all the best, hope something gets sorted out.

Thanks ngrserv! The body shell distorted and it the door swung open as it rolled and jammed it that position, at least it saved me romping through someones garden! Net result one fractured fibula (me) but no other injuries to Calibra occupants and whiplash/bruises to my two passengers.

on a plus side, consider yourselves lucky. know its not helping the situation but it could have been a lot worse.

still astounded with the pics, well done whoever took them all.

I'm delighted to hop away from it! There is cctv footage here if you want to see what a Landy flies like!

I can't believe how well it protected us from an impact at speed!

Feel gutted for ya fella :(

At least everyone was ok!

Just looking at how your front propshaft as snapped in half/on the floor.

Sounds like the insurance company are trying to pull a fast one though. :(

Hmm, I think tomorrow begins with a chat to the insurance company regarding the agreed value nonsense, if no joy discuss with my solicitor and then insurance ombudsman I suspect! The front Prop snapped at the UJ, still drove on to the trailer and once front axle pulled back into line it steered as well!!
