Hi Guys,

I had an after-market Pioneer stereo fitted in my 03 TD4 ES so I could play MP3s through my phone and the like. It has since stopped working and I have re-fitted the original radio.

If I was to get another MP3 radio would I be able to adapt it to use my steering wheel controls and also regain the use of my 6 CD changer?

Thanks,

Gary

I have an aftermarket kenwood unit in mine. Most of the modern ones have adapters so you can use the steering wheel controls. Mine work but i had to wait while halfrauds got one in for me. I got them to fit it too because i didn't want the hassle. As for the CD changer, they have mostly become an obsolete feature in more modern head units. Mine doesn't work but it was missing the bit you put in it anyway, i don't know what its called.

You might be able to find one that has a changer input but is it really necessary with mp3, usb, aux and maybe even bluetooth?

What is the exact adapter I need to fit an after-market head unit? I have the aerial extender but the other leads are bigger than the socket on my new pioneer stereo.

Thanks
