After rain question???

Almost everytime after I drive the 90 in the rain she gets stuck.

I will try to explain.

My truck sleeps in a garage at night so after I come home in the rain by the next morning she is dry.

Then when I get in and start her and put her in reverse to back out its like she is stuck.
It feels like the emergency brakes are on. Then I give her a little more throttle and she makes a bang sound and is free. No problems anymore until the next rain. Very strange.

Any ideas:confused:

I am not to worried as she does great otherwise but if it can be fixed......

I'd guess your handbrake is sticking on.
Failing that reverse in and drive out see if that makes a difference ;)

Garage floor is flat so I leave her in neutral.

It really does feel like the brakes are sticking.

How would I check for stuck brakes and how would I fix ?
Why does it do it only after driving in the rain?

Chock three wheels at least one front and back, preferably all three.
Jack up one wheel and spin it....or try to :rolleyes: you can also check wheel bearings whilst your at it ;)

How you free it depends on whether its disc or drum, there are procedures in haynes, rave and on here for both.... I think

I think it would be moisture causing rust to form on the drum or disc taking up the gap between pad and disc ;)
 
My Subaru does this too - it's just the pads sticking to the discs. Might be worth giving the calipers a good clean out or changing to a different make of pad.
 
She is 4 wheel disk.

Thats exactly what it feels like and the rust would explain why it only happens after driving in the rain.

Even after some rain the pads should not stick. I suspect one of your calipers is sticking.....time for a strip down and rebuild and do all four to be sure you get the problem fixed.
 
I'd imagine it's the handbrake, I've had the same problem. Next time it sticks lift up the seat and hit the plunger on the back of the drum that the hand brake cable is attached to and see if that stops it. If so you need to take the hand brake apart and clean and grease it all then adjust it properly.
