After Market radio instillation

I currently have a 2007 Range Rover Vogue and I am looking at replacing the dated original unit. I have been looking around the internet on how this can be done as I am aware that the system is digital and can be quite tricky to undertake.
I know that wiring looms have been developed to maintain the connections but these fit directly to the control unit behind the head unit in the dash.
My model has centre vents in the top of the dash which means the control unit isn't located there, I am guessing it is located in the boot with all other units.
What I am after is ideas on how I can connect in the dashboard or would I have to rerun wires to the rear.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As stated above , there may be more answers in the Range Rover section, or by yhe search function. Also adding model rather than trim is the norm.
Other than that hood luck with your quest, there are threads about doing an upgrade , not sure which model though.
