After market cd/mp3 player

Just picked up a great condition `97 discovery 1 (aviemore).

Everything works apart from the stereo system , has the original landrover radio/cassette with 6 cd multi changer , however the volume is always full on , dash volume buttons have no effect , nor does the volume control on the head unit , is there an after market head unit that could replace the landrover one ?

Only a similar Phillips unit will be plug and play, but most of the single din size head units will fit and as usual the more you pay the better the unit is.
You will require one with a bass pre-amplified output to supply the boot door sub loudspeaker, also if you wish to keep the dash controls you will require a head unit that excepts the signals plus the interface lead to link the two together. The underseat multi CD player will be redundant.
