Ok, now it is dark (can't see in the dark).... I need a torch - a very good torch. Needs to be used on the farm, when offroading and just general lighting when up in the roof laying cables, etc...

Got up to £150 to spend. Looking at high powered LED.

Quite a few on the market and deffo avoiding Chinky crap.

Any ideas?

Whatever you get, I'd say get a headtorch, a hand torch and also maybe a torch/lamp with a stand so hands free. Working and holding a torch is not ideal ... ;)

get over to candlepower CandlePowerForums

i've got this with a 50w hid conversion lol

I bought a pack of 2 500 lumen torches from Costco , £25 for the two

3 C batteries, very bright,

You could get 12 for £150, that'd be bright :D

the snap on head torches are good.. y'know for head torches.

you sound a bit unrealistic wanting one torch to do everything

I have one of these
Buy Torches P14 Tactical focusing LED torch 4 x AA Led Lenser 8414 online from RS for next day delivery.

Which is proper bright for a little torch small enough to have in your pocket. Mine never leaves mine

hmmmm .... after 24 years in the military I would have to question how a superbright torch can be advertised as 'tactical'... still I guess it will entice a few .. should try adding a link to black cargo pants and utility belts, they could triple their sales :) ....

bit like putting wolf on any old ebay advert for landrover bits lol

cheers steve

Petzl head torches can't beat em for head torches

Agreed.

I have one of THESE about £35. Not gonna give you mega spot power like Stenovas effort but its great for camping, closing gates during night landing, going for a slash at night. :)

Only thing is, if you have long hair get the Tikka, short hair the Zipka or the elastic band will get caught in your hair.

I also have one of THESE at work. Great, unbelievable amount of light, but at work i want the petzel as its more compact.
