aeriel help

ever since i bought my disco last year i have trouble with the radio and getting stations.
after asking around a few landrover specialist they said that my aeriel is not in the correct place.
its postioned on te roof near the back with a shark fin aeriel.
the disco is a 1997 300 tdi, its the GS model.
does anyone else have the same or can help, its driving me mad now with the radio been on/off.

Should be in the OSR window below the alpine window, looks like a heated window...

Think i remember reading they sometimes suffer from earthing problems on the amplifier unit (somewhere under the plastic window surround)

Don't know why yours should have the shark fin though?!

As long as you have a good earth and centre connection to the back of you radio there should be no problem. shouldn't matter what it looks like or where it is really. the radio stations kick out 1000's of Watts of RF.
