Hi, I would appreciate some advice. I am buying a Discovery 2 tomorrow, do they preform much better Chipped?
And if yes, is there a particular make/manufacturer to go for?

Hello RAX.

Yes they do. Just have a look around this forum and you will find plenty of threads.

Many here highly recomend Mike of Dynachip, as he comes to your home or work anywhere in the country and will do a stage 1 re-map for £225. Others have used Alive and a few others with good results.

Having said that, there may be other things you may wish to consider doing first before doing the re-map, as if you do these afterwards, strictly speaking, you may need another re-map.

Consider things like a bigger intercooler, egr valve delete kit, de-cat pipe (but be aware of latest legislation, as you may need to put the cat back on at MOT time) and centre silencer delete (some find cabin noise a bit much and put the silencer back on).

Hope this helps.

I re-mapped my last disco, an 02 plate and it made a big difference, I now have an 04 plate and intend to re-map it soon. The main difference I noticed was over taking and not needing to drop a gear to do so

I bought one and it may be chipped but doesn't go as well as I would expect a chipped on to go.

TD5 auto with roughly 10 second 0-60, very quick to 30 then gets slower to 60.

My old car was slow to 30 then hit 60 in 8, and that was about 200bhp
