Hello,

This forum was recommended to me as i am looking to buy my first discovery!!

I am viewing a 300tdi, r reg, 78k miles, fsh, automatic later today. The guy is advertising it at £4000, is this a good price?

Also I have been asked to check whether the timing belt has been changed. Does anyone know roughly how much this costs to do?

Are there any good land rover mechanics near worthing, west sussex?

I had the timing belt on my last 300 done by a local specialist. Cost about £130 + VAT.

Price wise I paid £2900 for my R plate but it had 92k on it and it's a basic model.

You know which body/chassis parts to look at?

Boot floor, sills, wheel arches (inside and out), front of engine bay etc

Also check the gearbox oil level, and ask them if the gearbox oil screen has been replaced recently, bit of an invloved operation todo yourself unless your confident.
