Advice on fitting/removing Freelander2 detachable tow hitch please

Hi, have had Freelanders before but last year got myself a 07 plate low miles FSH Freelander2 which had a detachable tow hitch in the boot and I intend towing in August but am unsure how the hitch is fitted and removed. I need to be able to remove it as we have a very large (50+ kilo) black German Shepherd and I'm worried in case he hurts his chest while jumping in the back if the hitch was fitted. As I hate messing about with things I would appreciate if anyone could tell me the correct procedure to fit and remove. It is a LR original part.Thanks in advance dru
