I have my 2007 Freelander 2 booked in for its service on the 28th October 2009.

Over the weekend the car appears to have developed a whine from the engine.

This manifests itself after about the first 2 or 3 miles driving from a cold start and is evident in all forward gears and is at its loudest (most noticeable) at around 2000 - 2500 revs.......although there are no warning or information messages showing up on the dash details is this something which I should be worried about immediately and is this something which needs looking at prior to the service in a couple of weeks ?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated....

explain the fault, and make sure it is noted on the invoice when you collect the vehicle. If this is under warranty, then you can demonstrate that the fault was identified whilst the vehicle was under warranty. They are then duty bound to rectify the fault to your satisfaction.

good luck
