It's here at last! The big outdoor event that I've been longing to organise for years has finally been launched ...

Entitled ADVENTURE OVERLAND it aims to span the entire overland and adventure travel scene from all-wheel-drive trucks to 4x4's, off-road dirt bikes to tourers, mountain bikes to tandems, adventure sports in the UK to treks, expeditions and explorations in far flung foreign lands.

It also incorporates an element that's linked to all these forms of travel - bushcraft - something that has been neglected in the 4x4 market up until now; not any more!

In a nutshell, it's an event that has never been held before. :)

The venue's excellent (somewhere new and fresh yet still central), the prices for day visitors, campers & traders are fair and ‘down to earth’ with advance-booking discounts ensuring everyone can afford to attend, the time of year is still mild enough for camping, and importantly, it doesn't clash with any other show.

By the way, if "LandyZone" would like a free pitch to promote the forum, simply email me and we can arrange something.

Check out the website at www.adventureoverlandshow.com and let me know what you think … constructive criticism always welcome!

Cheers! The whole point is ... it's something different from the usual Land Rover shows. As good as they are, or as bad whichever way folk view it, we're trying to create a new event that will let us see how the other half lives so to speak, not just our little world.

Me, I love touring in my Rangie, so want to bring into the event all the things I love doing, hopefully it'll appeal to others too. My ambulance-soon-to-be-camper as I call it these days, in reality it's just a shell but it has the basis of a really good expedition vehicle. It's going to take a bit of time (not to mention money) to transform it into an actual camper, but one day it'll happen. Optimistic 'til the last!!! :)

Couldn't agree more, it could have been better attended, although to be fair that was billed as a Sunday only 4x4 market/autojumble pitched up alongside the off-road course, not an actual show. BIG difference!

It's like comparing 1lb of white truffles (£14,000 worth) to 1lb of Tesco's value mushrooms. Both are fungi, but that is where the similarity ends. ;)

Mpower! I've PM'd you back, look forward to see your Leyland Daf truck at the show. :clap2:
