adjusting me handbrake

Hi would i be right in thinking the bolt head in the center at the bottom of the back of the drum is to tighen it up. my hand brake leaver is on it last click thanks.

on a r380 box.

Yup.

Slacken the cable first, take play up with the bolt till it rubs, back off slightly, then re-adjust cable ... repeat till you get it about right!!

Took me a couple of goes to get it spot on, but it rarely needs looking at afterwards ..

have i got to take the drum off to adjust the cable?

No. Inside the cabin, take off the centre console window switch panel and there's a knurled knob to take up cable slack .. it's a biatch to do though ...

You'd probably be OK just tightening the handbrake adjuster bolt on the drum ... suck it and see ...

i wound the nut in on the drum and brought my leaver half way down sorted thanks
