yes, only corrosion(unless it was hurt during some extreme off-roading) i gave them a proffesional anticor treatment 7 years ago and they are like new... also they dont use much salt on the roads around here
... this ACE system is quite bulletproof if it's well maintained...i'll keep fixing mine as long as i can afford though i havent had any problems with it since i own the car except the pipes long ago

Other issues from what I've read on here are pump burnout due to no fluid (pretty obvious to avoid if you're pro-active in your maintenance) and contamination issues, especially if pipe(s)/valves etc. have been replaced.

Well I would fix rather than strip as it was one of the reasons I bought it.
